Log in at https://botpanel.<your-domain>/login.php with the panel-user credentials your superadmin gave you. Everything here only affects your own site.

Teaching entries (Entries page)

Each entry is one question/answer pair. When a visitor asks something, the bot compares their message against every entry's meaning (not exact wording) and answers with the closest match above the confidence threshold, see Matching and confidence.

You can build up entries four ways, all from the Entries page:

Add one manually, a simple question + answer form.
Edit / delete an existing entry.
Scrape a URL, paste a page URL and the app extracts question/answer pairs from its heading structure automatically (works best on FAQ-style pages with clear headings followed by explanatory text). Review what it found, extraction isn't perfect on every page layout.
Bulk import a CSV or Markdown file (below).

Every new/edited entry is embedded automatically (immediately, no separate step) so it's searchable right away.

Answer formatting

Answers support a small Markdown subset, rendered in the widget: - **bold**, *italic* - [link text](https://example.com), and a bare domain/URL with no http(s):// also becomes a clickable link automatically - - bullet lines for lists - Line breaks, a literal newline in the answer becomes a line break in the widget

Nothing else (no raw HTML, no images), this is deliberate: the widget never renders arbitrary HTML, so there's no way a taught answer (or a compromised import file) can inject markup.

Bulk import (CSV / Markdown)

From Entries → Import, upload a .csv or .md/.markdown file.

CSV, a header row question,answer, one entry per row. A literal newline inside an answer works as long as that cell is quoted, per normal CSV quoting rules.

Markdown, a Markdown table with Question and Answer columns (matched case-insensitively, column order doesn't matter):

A Markdown table cell can't contain a literal newline (each |...| line is parsed as one row). To get a line break inside an answer, use <br>:

<br> is converted to a real line break on import. Exporting back to .md (below) does the same conversion in reverse, so export → edit → re-import round-trips cleanly.

Rows missing a question or answer are skipped. There's a maximum row count per file, split a very large file into batches if you hit it.

Export

Entries → Export as CSV or Markdown, downloads everything currently taught, in the same format described above. Useful for backing up your own content, editing in bulk offline, or migrating entries between sites (export from one, import into another).

Reset

Entries → Reset deletes every taught entry for your site. There's no undo, export first if you might want any of it back.

Reindex

If you ever suspect an entry's stored embedding is stale (this shouldn't normally happen, saving an entry always re-embeds it), Reindex re-embeds every entry for your site from scratch.

Settings page

Confidence threshold (0–1), how close a match has to be before the bot answers instead of handing off. Lower = answers more often but with lower confidence (more likely wrong or off-topic); higher = hands off more often but answers are more reliably relevant. Tune this based on real visitor questions once you have some traffic.
Handoff message, shown when the bot can't confidently answer (no match, or no entries taught at all).
Handoff link, an optional URL shown alongside the handoff message (e.g. a contact page).
Live chat enabled, when on, a handoff also offers the visitor a live chat option (connecting to a human via botagents) instead of only the static handoff message/link.
Use custom widget colors, when checked, sets the widget's primary/secondary colors (bubble, header, send button, links) to the two color pickers below it. Left unchecked, the widget uses its default blue/gray (or a color the client's own site CSS defines, if any, see Embedding the widget).
Logo, upload an image to show in the widget's header next to "Chat with us". Any common image format works, it's re-encoded to PNG server-side regardless of what you upload. "Remove current logo" clears it back to text-only.

Everything on this page only applies to your own site. Allowed embed origins is not here, that's superadmin-only, see below.
